LAHORE:LDA teams conducted operation against illegal commercial buildings and commercial fee defaulters and partially demolished more than 50 properties and sealed 75 illegal commercial properties here on Wednesday.
The teams conducted operations in Pine Avenue, Defence Road, Jubilee Town, Eden Lane Villas, removed illegal temporary structures, signboards of illegal commercial properties in Pine Avenue and demolished several illegal structures in Pine Avenue, Defence Road and Jubilee Town.
LDA teams removed illegal commercial sheds and demolished boards from 35 properties in Eden Lane Villas, Pine Avenue. Illegal commercial structures near Mian Chowk, Jubilee Town were demolished. Illegal commercial structures and illegal commercial workshops were demolished in C Block, LDA Avenue One.
The properties demolished included food points, workshops, cafes, property offices, offices and others. LDA teams sealed 25 properties in Gulberg, Faisal Town and 26 illegal commercial properties around UBD Canal. During the recovery operation, 24 properties were sealed in Allama Iqbal Town.
These properties include private schools, clinics, pharmacies, bakeries, cash and carry, restaurants, workshops, food points, shops, offices and others. The operation was supervised by Chief Town Planner Asad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner Azhar Ali. Indiscriminate action is being taken against illegal commercial buildings, commercial fee defaulters and properties on the directions of DG LDA.
Meanwhile, LDA DG Tahir Farooq visited G-1 Market and Khayaban Jinnah Johar Town and reviewed the operation against illegal constructions and encroachments on Khayaban Jinnah, Johar Town. Assistant Commissioner Allama Iqbal Town Khawaja Umair and LDA officers gave a briefing.
Encroachments and structures built on set-back areas on Khayaban Jinnah have been demolished. DG LDA directed to ensure set-back areas from properties that constantly cause traffic jams.
Later, DG also visited G-1 Market Johar Town and reviewed the ongoing development works in the commercial zone G-1 Market. Project Director gave a briefing. The work of developing the parking area and remodeling the market was under way in the G1 Market Commercial Zone. Tough tiles were being installed around the market, the facades of commercial properties will be uniformly painted and signposted. The remodeling of the G1 Market Commercial Zone will permanently eliminate encroachments. DG LDA Tahir Farooq has directed expediting the development work of G1 Market.
