LAHORE:Police have arrested a man for making a false robbery report in the Gulberg area. According to details, the suspect, identified as Ansar, had called the emergency helpline (15) claiming that five robbers had snatched Rs5 million and a luxury car from him near Eden Tower before fleeing the scene.
However, during the investigation, the suspect failed to mislead the police for long and eventually admitted that his vehicle had been taken by a bank due to a financial dispute. The police have registered a case against Ansar for filing a false emergency call and handed him over to the investigation wing.
Three die in separate incidents
Three people lost their lives in separate incidents across the City. According to an Edhi spokesperson, a 45-year-old unidentified man was found dead near Landa Bazaar in the Gowalmandi area. His body was shifted to the morgue.
In another incident, a 58-year-old security guard, identified as Sakhawat, suffered a fatal cardiac arrest in the Nawab Town area. The victim was a resident of Bhimber. Meanwhile, a 74-year-old woman, identified as Ameera, died in a road accident on Sehr Road in the Shalimar area. The victim, a resident of Nankana Sahib, succumbed to her injuries before medical assistance could arrive.
Police from the respective jurisdictions carried out the necessary legal procedures before shifting the bodies to the morgue via Edhi ambulances.
Seven die on road in 24 hours
The Emergency Services Department (ESD) responded to 1,195 road accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. In these accidents, seven people died, whereas 1,441 were injured. Out of these, 642 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 799 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.
