LAKKI MARWAT: The district administrations of Lakki Marwat and Bannu have banned display of weapons, use of tinted glasses in vehicles and pillion-riding ahead of the five day anti-polio drive commencing from February 3.

Officials said that Lakki Marwat DC Zeeshan Abdullah and Bannu DC Abdul Hameed Khan imposed restrictions through separate notification issued under section 144 of CR.P.C. “In Bannu, the district police officer proposed imposition of restrictions keeping in view previous attacks on polio teams and their police escorts and recent threats,” said an official, adding that patwaris (revenue officials) engaged in polio eradication duty will be exempted from the ban on display of weapons.
