PTI MNAs opposed the motion when Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah put the same to the House. PTI chief whip Malik Aamir Dogar said the president in his address to joint sitting talked about reconciliation and keeping the federating units intact questioning whether the same was practiced following his speech.
Aamir Dogar said the PTI leadership appreciates and welcomes the dialogue process. “I appreciate the role of the speaker but the question arises whether the president also played any role in this regard,” he said. Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazir Tarar said the president as head of state enjoyed certain privileges and high status of respect.
