Court declares KP CM proclaimed offender

Court adjourns hearing of case till January 15, and directs counsels to submit their arguments on next date

ISLAMABAD. An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday declared Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and PTI leader Umar Tanveer Butt as proclaimed offenders in a case filed against them at I-9 Police Station in 2022.

Adjourning the case till January 15, ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra also issued arrest warrants for the accused who were absent from the hearing. PTI leaders Faisal Javed and Wasiq Qayyum were also present in the courtroom.

The case was filed against accused for creating law and order situation and spreading violence following disqualification of PTI founder chairman Imran Khan from a local court.

During the hearing, the court directed to separate case of Ali Amin Gandapur and Umar Tanveer Butt from the case of other co-accused.

The process to declare Amir Kiyani as proclaimed offender was also set into motion. Accused Faisal Javed filed a petition to withdraw the sections of terrorism from the FIR.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till January 15, and directed the counsels to submit their arguments on the next date.
