MINGORA: The University of Swat in collaboration with the Hashoo Foundation inaugurated the Social Lab to equip students with skills to nurture entrepreneurial ideas and facilitate research.
Commissioner of Malakand Division Muhammad Abid Khan was the chief guest at the ceremony. The Social Lab Project launched with funding from the European Union serves as a hub for nurturing entrepreneurial ideas, facilitating research, and incubating startups to address social challenges.
With a focus on collaboration and practical engagement, the Social Lab will empower students and the local community to ensure sustainable development and accelerate economic growth.It aims to be a centre of excellence, bringing students, faculty, and the community together to work on innovative solutions for societal issues.
It will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of education and entrepreneurship in the region. Speaking on the occasion, University of Swat Vice Chancellor Dr Hassan Sher said: “The Social Lab is a step forward in transforming the academic landscape of the University of Swat. This initiative reflects our commitment to fostering innovation and addressing the pressing social challenges of our time.”
