Islamabad:As the situation remains tense in the federal capital, authorities have implemented a series of road closures and openings to manage traffic flow. All four entry routes to Islamabad’s Red Zone remain closed, with only Margalla Road being used for entry and exit from the area. The extended Red Zone remains inaccessible to traffic, and commuters are advised to use alternative routes when traveling towards Blue Area.

In a bid to ease congestion elsewhere in the city, the Rawat T-Cross, Koral Chowk, and Khanna Pul have been reopened for traffic in both directions. Key routes such as Faizabad, Murree Road, and the Express Highway have also resumed normal operations, with traffic flowing smoothly in both directions. Additionally, Murree Road near the Traffic Office, Peshawar Morr, and Golra Morr are fully operational.

Several other major thoroughfares, including the 26 Number Chungi, Motorway Link Road, Colonel Sher Khan Shaheed Road, and Iran Avenue, have been cleared for traffic, allowing citizens to resume their journeys without significant disruptions. Lehtrar Road, G-14 Srinagar Highway, Seventeen Mile Toll Plaza, and Bhara Kahu are also open for travel. Katti Pahari GT Road has been reopened, enabling the flow of vehicles on both sides.

However, restrictions remain in place in certain areas of the city. The extended Red Zone from Zero Point to the Express Highway and Srinagar Highway is still closed to all traffic in both directions. Roads such as Khayaban Bridge, Faisal Avenue, and Jinnah Avenue also remain closed. Authorities are urging citizens to avoid unnecessary travel towards these restricted areas and to use the available alternative routes. The Islamabad Traffic Police is providing continuous guidance and can be contacted for further information and real-time updates on traffic conditions.
