Inhumane work culture

We have such an abhorrent work culture in our country that one's responsibility deprives them of their rights. For instance, a faculty member is denied the right to pursue higher education on the pretext of having important teaching responsibilities and due to a general shortage of faculty. Employees are restrained from taking a day off, even in pressing times, despite having a dozen casual leaves left. These practices exhibit an industrial revolution-era mindset where one person's presence or absence is correlated with profit and loss to the organization.

Such practices foster a toxic environment and create a trust deficit among co-workers. No matter the nature of an organization’s work, serious attention should be given to these issues. Organizations should not be allowed to create and inhumane work culture. Human beings are not machines.
