PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) Senator Aimal Wali Khan Thursday condemned the uprooting of the camps of Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) in Khyber district and termed it dual policy of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government in the province.
In a statement, the Awami National Party leader said that baton-charge, firing and use
of tear gas on the peaceful activists of PTM in Khyber was state terrorism. He said that the police reportedly burnt and ransacked the camps for the upcoming Pakhtun Jirga (Adalat).
“It is strange that the provincial government blames the Centre for its own action against peaceful Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement activists,” he said.The violence was no solution to issues, he said, adding the people should be given their constitutional rights to hold peaceful gatherings.
The Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) had announced a three-day Pakhtun Qaumi Adalat (Jirga) in Khyber district on October 11 for which representatives of different political parties, tribes and regions had been invited to present their point of view.
