KMU holds 3rd international research moot

PESHAWAR: The 3rd International Research Conference was held at Khyber Medical College, attracting prominent medical experts and researchers to discuss advancements in medical research crucial for improving healthcare in Pakistan.

The conference was inaugurated by Prof Dr Rizwan Taj, president of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), alongside other key figures, including Dr Umar Ayub Khan, Chairman of the Board of Governors of KTH, and Dean KMC Prof Dr Mahmud Aurangzeb.

Renowned medical experts, researchers, and students gathered to promote modern research trends and innovations. In the lead-up to the conference, over 50 workshops were conducted in major public hospitals across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, benefiting doctors, students, and medical staff.

During the conference, several pharmaceutical companies showcased their innovations, and networking opportunities included city tours of Peshawar. Professor Dr. Rizwan Taj emphasized, “Research in health is the foundation of the global medical system. As technology rapidly evolves, it is essential for medical institutions to focus on research to elevate healthcare standards.”

Dr. Umar Ayub Khan stated, “Khyber Medical College has always been at the forefront of research. This conference aims to inform students and faculty about modern methodologies and equip them to develop new treatments for public benefit.”

Dean Prof. Dr. Mahmud Aurangzeb while speaking at the conference added, “Progress in the health sector is impossible without research. We must focus our efforts on providing services that meet global standards.”

At the conference conclusion, speakers praised Khyber Medical College’s research achievements and expressed confidence that this conference would significantly contribute to national and international research development.
