Rawalpindi: Dengue fever outbreak is getting more and more severe with every passing day in Rawalpindi district from where as many as 118 individuals have tested positive for the infection in the last 24 hours which is the highest number of cases reported in a day from the district this year so far.
Data collected by ‘The News’ on Wednesday reveals that the confirmation of another 118 cases from Rawalpindi in the last 24 hours has taken the total number of dengue fever patients so far reported from the district to 1476 of which five patients have already lost their lives.
The district health authority on Wednesday claimed that the death of a confirmed dengue fever patient reported by the authority on Tuesday was not due to dengue fever, instead the patient died of co-morbidities.
The data provided by the DHA on Wednesday has revealed that to date, dengue fever has claimed a total of five lives. The data also reveals that a total of 202 confirmed dengue fever patients belonging to Rawalpindi have been undergoing treatment at the teaching hospitals in the district on Wednesday morning.
