Inaugurating the model residential project at an earmarked seven-acre plot near the Civic Centre, the CJ spoke of the challenges facing the dispensation of justice.

He appreciated the assistance being rendered; however, he observed that greater effort was needed in order to better serve the litigants. He emphasized that it was his vision to share the responsibility of housing, transportation, medical and daycare staff so that their productivity could be enhanced and it would also serve as an incentive to recruit the best talent in the future.

The model residential facility encompasses state-of- the-art residential accommodation, transportation to and from the high court, a clinic and a daycare facility for young children.

The project envisages the construction of 336 apartments in successive phases; 192 in the first phase and 144 in the latter. Three distinct types of apartments are planned spanning 2,560, 2,100 and 1,200 square feet respectively to accommodate personnel serving in BPS 19-20, 17-18 and 5-16.
