Islamabad: Education secretary Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani has emphasised the need for an engaging learning environment, saying the curriculum should be transformed into storytelling formats to captivate students.

He also advocated for a game-based educational model, with digital content to enhance environmental literacy. “We have already begun collaborating with major platforms to create this content, which will be available as open-source material to all,” he told a function here. The secretary commended the US and TRC for their initiative to incorporate climate change into the school curriculum.

He appreciated the structured approach taken to address vital issues such as water conservation, biodiversity, climate change, disaster risk reduction, and disaster management. Mr Wani acknowledged the urgent need for specialised training for teachers focused on environmental education, saying general science education is insufficient in today’s context.
