LAHORE: The Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) has concluded its selection process for the upcoming Asia Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) Championship, set to take place in Vietnam this November.
In a groundbreaking move, the PGF has announced not only a men’s team but also, for the first time, a women’s team to represent Pakistan in the APGC Women’s Team Match Championship. The PGF picked four male and two female players: Brig Omer Ejaz of Margalla Greens, CDR Rizwan Rashid of Margalla Greens, Tariq Mehmood of Lahore Garrison Greens and Asim Tiwana (Royal Palm Golf Club); Mrs Tahira Nazir and Mrs. Ghazala Yasmin. The PGF conducted rigorous three-day trials at the Lahore Garrison Greens Golf Course, where 50 top senior men amateurs, aged 55 and above, competed for spots on the national team.
