Female Rangers employee, man die in CNG blast

HYDERABAD: A woman and a man lost their lives in an explosion while refilling compressed natural gas (CNG) in a car at a CNG station along the M9 motorway in Nooriabad, District Jamshoro, on Sunday.

According to the police, the incident occurred at the Kohistan CNG station, where a car travelling from Hyderabad to Karachi was destroyed in the blast.

SHO Arsalan Solangi of the Nooriabad police station said that the woman, identified as Syeda Asima Shah, had died at the scene. Arbab Unar, a worker at the CNG station, succumbed to his injuries after being admitted to the emergency ward of the Liaquat University Hospital, he added.

The officer also noted that the deceased woman was an employee of the Pakistan Rangers. Car driver Muhammad Khalid Bukhari, CNG station worker Qambar Palari and two other people suffered injuries in the explosion. Police confirmed that the woman was seated in the rear of the vehicle.
