The children were playing inside the car when its doors got locked and they could not open them. As a result, one of them suffocated and another was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.

Police said the car was parked outside the children’s house located in a private housing society in Gulistan-e-Jauhar within the limits of the Sharea Faisal police station.

The deceased child was identified as three-year-old Rauf, and the critically injured child as four-year-old Hassan.

Police said the brothers got into the car when their father was not at home and the mother was inside. The car belonged to a tenant and had been parked outside the house in a broken-down condition for several months. Police have taken the car owner into custody for investigations.
