LAHORE:Punjab Health Ministers Khawaja Salman Rafique and Khawaja Imran Nazir emphasised the importance of media feedback in accelerating improvement in health services to the masses.
The government's collaboration with health reporters would drive improvements in the health sector, they emphasised while addressing the oath-taking ceremony of the Lahore Health Reporters (LHR) on Sunday.
Khawaja Imran Nazir, Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare, acknowledged the media's role in keeping the public informed and welcomed constructive criticism. Khawaja Salman Rafique, Minister for Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education, praised LHR journalists for professionally highlighting health system challenges. He assured that ongoing projects, including cancer and cardiac hospitals, are progressing rapidly.
The ministers congratulated the newly elected LHR officials, including Chairman Zahid Chaudhry, President Suleman Chaudhry, and General Secretary Sabir Awan, and distributed shields among them.
The event was attended by notable figures from the health sector, including former minister Prof Javed Akram and various university principals and professors, including KEMU VC Prof Mahmood Ayaz, FJMU VC Prof Khalid Masood Gondal, SIMS Principal Prof Zahra Khanum, AIMC Principal Asghar Naqi, PGMI Principal Prof Al-Fareed Zafar, Director of Neurosciences Institute Prof Asif Bashir, and LGH MS Dr Farhad Hussain.
