The District West police arrested four suspects and solved the mystery surrounding the murder of a man whose body was found in a cupboard near a school in Orangi Town.
SSP Tariq Elahi Mastoi said that on September 24, the body of the tortured victim was found in a drum in the cupboard near the German School area in the Pakistan Bazaar police station limits.
The deceased was identified as 35-year-old Mohammad Hassan Shah, son of Shah Mohammad, who was strangled to death after torture. A case of murder was registered under section 302/34 of section 302/34 at the Pakistan Bazaar police station. A team was formed under the supervision of the Peerabad SHO, who started an investigation, used technical apparatus and arrested four suspects involved in the murder.
The suspects, identified as Muhammad Umair, Bilal, Muhammad Bilal and Waqar Hanif, revealed that Rab Nawaz, another suspect who is on the run, and the deceased were friends and there was a personal quarrel between the two. On the day of the incident, they said they were all present at Nawaz’s house, where a fight broke out between Shah and Nawaz. They said that together they caught Shah, tied him up, killed him, put the body in a cupboard and left it near the school after transporting it in a Suzuki van.
Firing incidents
A middle-aged man was killed in a shooting incident in the Saeedabad area on Saturday, while three others were injured in separate firing incidents across the city.
Police reported that the shooting occurred at Dawood Goth within the Saeedabad police station’s jurisdiction. The victim, identified as 55-year-old Shareef, son of Khalaq Dad, was transported to Civil Hospital, Karachi. Authorities believed the incident stemmed from personal enmity, and investigations were ongoing.
In separate incidents, a 25-year-old man named Noman was shot and injured during a personal dispute at Massan Chowk in Keamari and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, 35-year-old Shah Meer, son of Muneer Ahmed, was injured in a firing incident over a personal dispute in Surjani Town’s Gulshan-e-Shiraz, with police registering a case and continuing their investigation.
Additionally, a 22-year-old man, Areeb, son of Anwar Qureshi, was shot and injured by unknown assailants for reasons yet to be determined at Orangi Town’s Gulshan-e-Bihar. He was also taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical care, and investigations were ongoing.
