LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Friday directed sealing of schools built in dilapidated and precarious buildings.
She issued the directive while meeting Members of the Provincial Assembly at Deputy Commissioner Office, Muzaffargarh, to seek their suggestions and recommendations for solving public problems. She also directed them to check cleanliness of schools as well.
She said, ”I am committed to solving all public problems.” She added, ”I am sure, after a few years, the grievances will not persist.” She highlighted, ”I am not stingy in praising on good work. It is a fact we have to be tough to improve things.”
The CM said, ”Police should create a sense of relief in the public, and a sense of fear in the criminals.” She added, ”Strict and decisive action should be taken against the criminals and terrorists.” She said, ”The trend of crimes against property should be controlled.” She directed the relevant authorities to ensure construction, repair and maintenance of main roads of Muzaffargarh on the suggestions of visiting members of the assembly. She expressed her indignation over encroachments and poor cleanliness in the central areas of Muzaffargarh.
She also directed to immediately start a campaign to raze encroachments. She said, ”Decisive action should be taken against corrupt elements in the revenue department.” She expressed anger over public complaints about land record centres.
She said, ”End of no-go area in Muzaffargarh is satisfactory.” She added, ”The proposal of dialysis facility in Social Security Hospital will be reviewed.” She inquired from the members of the assembly about the price of bread, flour and food items. She was briefed by the DC about progress made on CM initiatives, and by DPO Muzaffargarh about law and order situation in the area.
In her message on World Tourism Day, she said, “Greetings to all those who are passionate about tourism.” She highlighted, ”Tourism ignites natural abilities of a person and helps him think about himself and the universe around.” She added,”All possible resources will be utilized for the promotion of tourism.” She said, ”Ancient forts, religious places, picturesque valleys are very much suitable for tourism.” She noted, ”We are determined to show positive image of Pakistan at international level through tourism.” She said, ”Murree Development Plan will upgrade the infrastructure of Murree in modern style.” She added, ”Preliminary work has also started on the project of running a glass train from Rawalpindi to Murree.” She said, ”It is Punjab’s honour to introduce hybrid double-decker buses for the first time in Pakistan.”
