karachi: President Asif Ali Zardari, in response to a letter from the governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has directed the federal secretary for education and vocational training to take appropriate action against Chief Scout Commissioner Sarfaraz Qamar Daha of the Pakistan Boys Scouts Association (PBSA) as per rules, law and policy.
Governor Khan Faisal Karim Kundi has written a letter to President Zardari about the PBSA chief commissioner PBSA and chairman of the Board of Governors of Pakistan Scout Cadet College (PSCC), Batrasi, Sarfraz Qamar Daha Sarfraz Qamar Daha, as well as about his recent visit to the Hazara University for its convocation.
The letter says: “I was informed by local notables about significant issues involving Mr. Daha. There are allegations of blatant violations of authority, including the misappropriation and embezzlement of college funds for personal gain. These concerns are supported by official records. Furthermore, Mr. Daha's role as a regular employee of Pakistan Railways, alongside his positions with the PBSA, raises compliance issues with government regulations. In light of these concerns. I request your intervention as Chief Patron to remove Mr. Sarfaraz Qamar Daha from his current positions and to initiate a thorough investigation into these allegations. It is crucial to maintain the integrity of PSCC Batrasi and ensure that justice is served.”
When contacted, Sarfaraz Qamar Daha said the principal and a lecturer of the cadet college were expelled on charges of corruption, on which opponents complained about him to the governor. He said the governor wrote a letter to the president, but the matter is now resolved as the principal and the lecturer “who committed corruption” have been dismissed.
