Pedo projects to generate Rs6 billion in revenue

PESHAWAR: The energy projects being undertaken by the Pakhtunkhwa Development Organisation (Pedo) are expected to generate Rs6 billion in revenue annually to the exchequer on completion, said the chief executive of the entity, Engineer Riaz Ahmad Khan on Thursday.

He said this while speaking at a ceremony arranged for the employees who had retired after serving Pedo. The Pedo Employees Union had hosted the function for both senior officials and other workers who had served the organization in the past. The Pedo chief presided over the occasion.

The employee’s union president, Sifatullah Suri, paid rich tributes to the former employees for the services they had rendered. He enumerated enlisted the achievements made by the union in resolving the problems of the employees.

Engineer Riaz Ahmad Khan said Pedo was an organisation of the KP government which was earning billions of rupees in revenue for the provincial government. “It has importance to the economic stability of the province,” he added while urging the employees to keep on working tirelessly for the development of the organization.

Shields were awarded to the Pedo former chief Engineer Bahadur Shah, Engineer Zahid Akhtar Sabiri and other senior officers while other erstwhile workers were given away prizes.A former head of the employees union, Fazal Rahim Khan, and Abrar Khan spoke to the audience as well.
