Russia has generated the most AI-driven content aimed at influencing the upcoming US presidential election, surpassing all other foreign powers, according to a US intelligence official, Reuters reported.
This effort is part of Moscow's broader strategy to support Republican candidate Donald Trump over Democrat Kamala Harris, the official said on Monday.
Speaking anonymously, the official from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence addressed reporters during a briefing on foreign attempts to sway the November 5 election using artificial intelligence.
The official stated that Russia's AI content aligns with its larger goals, explaining that "Moscow's AI content is consistent with Russia's broader efforts to boost the former president's candidacy and denigrate the vice president and the Democratic Party, including through conspiratorial narratives."
