The strike by public prosecutors in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has entered its third day, affecting court proceedings across the province. The strike has halted mutual investigation between prosecution, police, and CTD, stopped case investigations, and slowed progress on new cases.

Moreover, the strike had stopped trial proceedings in old cases, caused difficulties for prisoners and increased burden on jails.

The office-bearers of the association said the strike would continue until fulfillment of their demands.

They have demanded the establishment of an independent Prosecution Department, creation of a Prosecutor General’s Office and service structure.
