In an interview to a private TV channel on Friday, he express hope that Maulana Fazlur Rehman will also be on the same page soon. “We want such a consensus that everyone agrees to the constitutional amendments and will bring Maulana Fazlur Rehman on the page soon as we tried to reach a consensus in the meeting with the JUI chief and accepted some of his suggestions,” he said

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the establishment of constitutional courts was in the Charter of Democracy and also part of the manifesto of the PPP. He said that the government wanted to create a consensus and that the allies and Maulana Fazlur Rahman would be with them on the constitutional amendments. In a reply to a question, he said PTI founder Imran Khan’s objection to the amendments was wrong. “It was a wrong impression to keep someone in jail as the constitutional court will not have the authority,” he said.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that no citizen of the country was satisfied with the judicial system and reforms were needed. “Judicial reforms should have been made long ago,” he said.

The PPP chairman said that the JUI had always played a positive role in the Constitution-making process. He said if Maulana Fazlur Rahman did not agree, then they would try to complete the numbers. “The confusion in the Election Commission of Pakistan and assemblies is due to court decisions,” he said, adding that he was satisfied with the performance of the government but the PPP would not join the federal cabinet.
