Judicial Magistrate (South) Sher Muhammad issued the non-bailable warrant against Adeem with a direction to the police to arrest and produce him before the court on September 24. The court issued his warrant over his failure to surrender before it in the case.

According to the investigating officer, advocate Abdul Fatah had lodged an FIR against Sahil Azaz Adeem on July 12, stating that he was sitting outside the Edhi Barroom at the City Courts when he received a video on WhatsApp, in which a person named Sahil Adeem could be heard making derogatory remarks about Sindhis.

The accused was heard saying that instead of Ghazwa-e-Hind, it should be Ghazwa-e-Sindh and that Sindhis gift their daughters to chaudhries and waderas (feudal lords). He used many other objectionable and unbearable words, the lawyer said, adding that the accused hurt sentiments of not just him but all Sindhi people.

The FIR was lodged under sections 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot), 505 (statements conducing to public mischief) and 500 (Punishment for defamation) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
