LAHORE: Two Pakistani snooker players, Asjad Iqbal and Awais Muneer, are set to compete in the IBSF World 6 Red Snooker Championship 2024, which kicks off in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, on Saturday (today).
The championship will feature 40 players divided into 10 groups. The top two players from each group will advance to the knockout round. The 10 group winners and the two best second-placed players will directly qualify for the last- 16 round. The remaining eight second-placed players will compete in a play-off for the last eight spots in the last 16 round.
Asjad Iqbal and Awais Muneer are scheduled to play their opening matches on September 21 against Mongolian opponents. Their subsequent matches will take place on September 22 and 23, leading up to the knockout stages. Both Asjad Iqbal and Awais Muneer are experienced snooker players with the potential to make a significant impact in the tournament.
