ISLAMABAD: Multan will host the first two Test matches of the forthcoming three-match series against England (as ‘The News’ splashed story in Thursday edition).
According to a revised schedule of the ICC World Test Championship’s fixtures between Pakistan and England, the second Test that was originally scheduled in Karachi has been shifted to Multan.
The second Test will now be played at Multan Stadium from October 15-19. Multan Stadium will also host the first Test from October 7-11. Pindi Stadium in Rawalpindi will be the venue for the final Test on October 24-28.
The match has been shifted from Karachi to Multan as the National Bank Stadium is undergoing a major facelift for next year’s ICC Champions Trophy, which will also be played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium and Pindi Cricket Stadium.
The England men’s team will arrive in Multan on October 2, while the Pakistan men’s team will also assemble in Multan on October 2. “PCB is thrilled to welcome England team back to Pakistan.
