Principal, school warden arrested in child abuse case

School and hostel have been sealed by local authorities after surfacing of child abuse scandal and arrest of two accused

QUETTA: Police have arrested the principal and hostel warden of a private residential school of Jaffarabad on the charges of alleged sexual child abuse and were conducting raids for the arrest of another accused involved in the scandal.

The school and hostel have been sealed by the local authorities after surfacing of the child abuse scandal and arrest of the two accused.

The SSP Jaffarabad Capt (Retd) Attaullah Tareen said that after disclosure of this criminal act with students of the school who were residing in the hostel the principal of the school and hostel warden have been taken into custody, while efforts were underway to arrest the brother of the principal who was also involved in child abuse.

“Five children between the ages of 10 to 12 faced sexual abuse many times by the accused in the school hostel which was proved medical examining by the medical officer,” SSP Tareen said, adding that the victims belong to Usta Muhammad, Sohbatpur and Sindh. He said that further investigation was in progress.
