Dusty city

As a resident of Karachi, I have noticed that many areas, particularly residential and commercial neighborhoods, are grappling with increasing levels of dust and debris. This not only creates an unpleasant environment but also poses severe health risks, particularly for those suffering from respiratory problems like asthma. The situation worsens during the dry seasons when dust clouds become a daily nuisance, affecting both indoor and outdoor living conditions. Moreover, after the recent rains, the roads in Karachi have deteriorated significantly, which has only worsened the problem.

The accumulation of water, coupled with poor drainage systems, has left many roads damaged and uneven. As these roads dry, they become major sources of dust pollution, making the air quality even worse. The post-rain situation has amplified dust exposure, particularly in high-traffic areas. Unfortunately, despite repeated complaints to local authorities, this issue remains largely unaddressed. It is hoped that the local administration and municipal authorities will not ignore this issue for much longer.
