In an interview with Geo News and The News, Faheem spoke about his cricketing journey, the importance of the Champions Cup, and his ambitions for a national comeback. He highlighted his continuous efforts to improve as a player.

“I am never fully satisfied with my performances,” Faheem said. “My goal is always to improve and perform better each time. I strive to give my best for whichever team I represent.” The 29-year-old expressed his determination to continue playing as long as he has the drive and fitness. “I will keep playing cricket as long as I have the energy. When that fades, I’ll step away from the game.”

Commenting on the significance of the Champions Cup, Faheem noted that the tournament is an important event for players, marking the beginning of the cricket season. “All the top players are competing, and this tournament is crucial for everyone. It provides a turning point for many players,” he said. Faheem emphasised that players have different goals heading into the tournament. “Some are aiming for a comeback, while others are looking to secure their spots. For young players, this is a vital opportunity to perform well and catch the attention of selectors and franchise teams.”

He expressed his own goal of using the Champions Cup to make a case for his selection in the upcoming Champions Trophy. “My aim is to perform well here and earn my place in the Champions Trophy squad.

“Careers have ups and downs, but one good performance can open many doors. What’s written in your destiny will happen; if it’s not meant to be, it won’t happen.” Faheem admitted that, at times, he feels he hasn’t fully capitalised on his talent. “There are moments when, despite performing, opportunities don’t come, which can be disappointing. But I try to stay away from negative thoughts.”
