According to Cabinet Division sources, the value of gifts received in the Toshakhana will be valued under various categories, including jewellery, watches and carpets and other gifts.

The Cabinet Division will sign a contract with successful valuers. Successful appraisers will be paid charges for gift estimates. Formula for payment of charges has also been worked out.

Marks will also be given for the qualification of appraisers on the basis of which they will be selected.

Gifts from the state-owned Toshakhana are only available for sale to political officials, bureaucracy, both civilian and military, and judges of the higher judiciary. But if any gifts are left behind, they are auctioned to the public.
