FAISALABAD: A stellar all-round display by Salman Ali Agha and a disciplined bowling effort from Zahid Mehmood powered Markhors to their second win in the Champions Cup, defeating Stallions by 126 runs at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, on Sunday.

Chasing a target of 232, Stallions crumbled to a mere 105 all out, with Zahid Mehmood wreaking havoc on the opposition, claiming 5 wickets for just 18 runs. Salman Ali Agha chipped in with 3 for 21.

Apart from a fighting knock of 45 from Babar Azam, no Stallions batter showed resistance against the Markhors’ bowling attack. Shan Masood was the only other player to reach double figures, managing just 19 runs, as Stallions were bowled out in 24 overs.

Earlier, Salman Ali Agha and Iftikhar Ahmed provided stability to the Markhors’ innings with well-paced half-centuries, helping the team reach a total of 231 runs. Iftikhar top-scored with 60 off 66 balls, while Salman contributed 51 off 72. Abdus Saman also played a valuable hand, adding 37 runs.

Markhors were bowled out in 45 overs. Jahandad Khan stood out for the Stallions, taking 4 wickets for 44 runs, while Mehran Mumtaz picked up 3 wickets for 56 runs.
