I have been living in the Rawalpindi-Islamabad area since 1988. Protests, rallies and the accompanying blocking of major roads have been a problem here as far as I can remember. These occasions always lead to me being late to or returning from work, exacerbating my stress, tiredness and anger. It is requested that the Islamabad administration kindly come up with some SOPs to better manage the rallies and demonstrations. In such instances, demonstrators should be restricted to one lane when on a highway to keep the other lanes open for traffic. And the administration should refrain from blocking intersections with containers and disrupting the journeys of hundreds of thousands of commuters just trying to get to work, return home, reach the hospital, catch a flight or attend a funeral.
