Cher has decided to end her nine-month legal battle for conservatorship over her son, Elijah Blue Allman.
Allman’s attorneys, Avi Levy and Steven Brumer, confirmed the news to People magazineon Friday, September 13, explaining that the case was resolved through private mediation.
“The team successfully defended Elijah, resulting in Cher voluntarily dismissing her petition," they said, adding that the focus is now on "healing and rebuilding their family bond."
The Believe singer’s legal team, represented by Gabrielle Vidal, also confirmed that the matter was settled privately. Rolling Stone reported that neither Cher nor Elijah appeared in court during the recent proceedings.
The Hollywood icon, 78, originally filed for conservatorship in December 2023, citing her son's struggles with substance abuse and financial mismanagement. However, Allman, 48, pushed back, stating in his January court filing that while he had battled addiction in the past, he was now “clean and sober” and capable of handling his finances.
Cher’s motion for an emergency conservatorship was denied twice by the end of January, after which the pair entered private mediation.
