According to FIA officials, the suspect arrived in Pakistan from Azerbaijan. During immigration clearance, suspicions arose, leading to a search of the suspect’s luggage, which uncovered a fake Spanish passport. Forensic examination at the Second Line Office confirmed the passport was counterfeit due to the absence of essential security features. Initial investigations revealed that the suspect had traveled to Saudi Arabia for Umrah two months prior using his Pakistani passport.

He then attempted to travel from Saudi Arabia to Spain with the fake documents but was unsuccessful. The suspect admitted that he had obtained the visa, tickets, and other documents from an agent named Mubeen, based in Sialkot. He paid an advance of 500,000 rupees to the agent and was set to pay an additional 3.2 million rupees upon reaching Baku.
