Girl tortured to death by father, stepmother

LAHORE : Police have registered a murder case after the death of an eight-year-old girl, Muskan, in the limits of Baghbanpura police.

The police have arrested the victim's father, Safeer Ahmed, and her stepmother, Amina, on charges of torture and murder. According to the FIR, the case came to light after a distress call from Muskan’s uncle, who informed the police that the girl had been subjected to severe physical abuse by her father and stepmother. The alleged mistreatment led to Muskan's untimely death. Police immediately responded to the scene and shifted the child’s body, which showed clear signs of torture, to the morgue for post-mortem to determine the cause of death.

Man arrested for raping child

Special Sexual Offences Investigation Units (SSOIU) Sadar Division arrested a man for molesting an 11-year-old child in the limits of Green Town police. According to the police, the accused Ali Sher, who happened to be the victim's neighbour, lured the child to his house and sexually assaulted him.

Missing children reunited with families

Four missing children from different districts of Punjab including Lahore were traced and handed over to their heirs.

According to the police, a 10-year-old Ghulam Fareed, who went missing from Sabzazar Lahore, was traced and handed over to his parents. Similarly, Ali Raza from Kasur, Ahmed Sher from Sahiwal and Ali Hussain from Nankana Sahib were found and handed over to their parents.

Speeding car kills rickshaw driver

A 25-year-old rickshaw driver was killed by a speeding car in L Block Johar Town on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Babar. Dolphin police arrested the car driver and handed him over to the police.

Six drug pushers arrested

Anti-Narcotics Force arrested six individuals and recovered 28 kg of drugs in various operations across the country during the last 24 hours.

At least 115 kg hashish was recovered from the accused in Peshawar while 570 pills of ecstasy were recovered from the accused in Sohrab Goth Karachi. Four kg of ice was recovered from the accused in Quetta. More than 3 kg of drugs were recovered from an individual on the Karakoram Highway, Mansehra and 8 kg of hashish was recovered from the bag of a motorcyclist on Margalla Road in Islamabad. 1 kg of ice was recovered from the accused near Tanmi Mor in DG Khan while 400 grams of ice was recovered from the parcel sent to Bahrain at the courier office at Jinnah International Airport Karachi.

Security plan for 12 Rabi ul Awwal

The Punjab Police have finalised security arrangements for celebration of 12 Rabi ul Awwal and the inspector general of police (IGP) Punjab has said that full security will be provided for the celebrations across the province.

He said that security would be on high alert, miscreants and anti-national elements would be kept under close watch, while more than 55,000 officers and workers would be deployed for security of 1,581 meetings and 2,467 processions across the province.

According to the Punjab Police data, 255 processions and more than 225 Milad gatherings would be held in Lahore on 12 Rabi ul Awwal, while more than 10,000 officers, officials and volunteers would perform security duties in the city.

Wounded gangster arrested

Rahimyar Khan police arrested a member of the Tanveer Indhar gang in injured condition in Bhong on Saturday.

According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, gangster Nukhaf Dashti suffered wounds due to firing of his accomplices. He was a close member of Moorzada Dashti gang. He had also ties with criminal Shehzada Dashti, who was killed in a previous police operation.
