FAISALABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has amended the playing conditions of the ongoing Champions Cup One Day tournament in Faisalabad, introducing changes to the bonus points system. Under the revised rules, teams will now earn bonus points based on the difference in net run rate rather than the margin of victory in terms of runs or wickets.

The PCB confirmed the update, explaining that the new system will award bonus points depending on a team’s run rate advantage. A difference of one run per over will grant one bonus point, two runs per over RR difference will award two points, and a three runs per over difference will result in three bonus points. The previous system allocated bonus points based on how decisively a team won in terms of runs or wickets. A PCB spokesperson stated that the adjustment was made to make the competition more engaging and to encourage positive, aggressive play. Meanwhile, according to the playing conditions, in the event of a match washout or cancellation before an innings is completed, no points will be awarded to either team. Additionally, teams can earn one bonus point for scoring 350 runs in an innings and two bonus points for scoring 375 runs.
