When did you first enter the field of acting?
I dipped my toes into acting during my teenage years - right when everyone was busy figuring out life, I was figuring out how to get my lines right.
What do you like most about your job?
The constant change. One day I’m a villain, the next, a hero. I get to meet so many interesting people and dive into different worlds. It’s like living multiple lives in one.
What is your claim to fame project?
‘Abb Dekh Khuda Kia Karta Hai’ and ‘Rang Mahal’ probably stand out the most.
Do you have a hidden talent?
Well, it’s not so hidden anymore, is it? Acting is what revealed my talent to the world. Surprise.
Do you prefer dramas or movies?
I’m greedy - I love both. Dramas give you the time to develop a character, and movies offer a different kind of thrill.
If you weren’t acting, what would you be doing today?
I’d probably be on a sports field somewhere, or maybe in the forces. Who knows, I might’ve been the next big athlete or a cool officer.
At this point in your life, what song would be your life’s theme song?
‘Phir Se Ud Chala’ from the movie ‘Rockstar’. It’s got that perfect blend of freedom and ambition.
What are your all-time favourite movies?
‘Devdas’ and ‘Rockstar’ - both are epic in their own way.
Who is your favourite singer and actor?
I’ve got a few - Mehdi Hassan, Atif Aslam, Arijit Singh, and Jagjit Singh. They all have voices that can make you feel every emotion in the book.
What’s the biggest misconception about you?
People think I’m aggressive, but I’m really not. I’m just passionate about what I do.
Who’s your best friend in the industry?
In showbiz, friends are more like colleagues. It’s a tough industry, and while there’s camaraderie, everyone’s focused on their own path.
Among your friends, you are known as?
The caring and hospitable one - always ready to lend an ear or whip up something delicious.
What do you like best about yourself?
My straightforwardness - I say it like it is. No beating around the bush.
Define happiness in three words.
Trust in Allah, always be thankful, and that will keep you happy forever.
What are you afraid of?
Losing the people who are closest to me.
What’s one thing that always cheers you up?
Seeing my family happy. Their joy is contagious.
What’s your idea of romance?
For me, life without romance would be like a movie without a soundtrack - just not complete.
What’s your biggest turn-off?
Self-obsessed people. Confidence is great, but there’s a line, and crossing it is a major turn-off.
What are you crazy about?
Travelling. I’m obsessed with exploring new places, trying different cuisines, and immersing myself in different cultures.
What do you usually wear in daily life?
It really depends on the occasion and my mood. Sometimes it’s casual, sometimes it’s all formal.
If you were stranded on an island, what two things would you want with you?
A knife or sword to survive and a warm overcoat to keep me cosy. I’m practical like that.
What’s one food that you can eat forever?
Fruits and dry fruits. They’re healthy, delicious, and you can never get bored of them.
How do you spend your Sundays?
Sundays are for overthinking about what I should do first, and then, before I know it, the day’s over, and I’ve done nothing. It’s a talent.
What’s your favourite place in the entire world?
I haven’t found it yet, but I think it will be the Holy Kaaba in Makkah. That’s a place I know will hold deep meaning for me.
Any upcoming projects you’re working on?
Yes. I’m currently working on two projects - one of which is for GEO TV. Exciting times ahead.
What advice do you have for young artists coming into the field?
Honestly, today’s artists are so talented and smart, they probably don’t need advice from me. Just keep doing what you love and stay true to yourself.
What’s next on your bucket list?
Travelling the whole wide world. There’s just so much out there to see, and I want to experience it all.
