PM appoints 20 MNAs as parliamentary secretaries

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday appointed 20 members of the National Assembly as parliamentary secretaries for different ministries and divisions.

Those who were appointed are Sajid Mehdi (Cabinet Division), Ahmed Atiq Anwar(Climate Change), Raja Osama Sarwar (Defence Production), Mian Khan Bugti (Energy, Petroleum Division), Aamir Talal (Energy, Power Division), Farah Naz Akbar (Federal Education and Professional Training, National Heritage and Culture), Dr Shaza Mansab Ali (Foreign Affairs), Saba Sadiq (Human Rights), Daniyal Chaudhry (Information and Broadcasting), Kiran Imran Dar (Inter-Provincial Coordination), Dr Darshan (Maritime Affairs), Wajiha Qamar (Planning Development and Special Initiatives), Usman Awaisi (Railways), Shahid Usman (Industries and Production), Anwarul Haq Chaudhry (Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan), Keso Ma Kheal Das (National Food Security and Research), Zeb Jaffar (Defence), Shamsher Ali Mazari (Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony), Azhar Khan Leghari (Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety) and Gul Asghar Khan (Communications). The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs later issued notification regarding appointment of 20 parliamentary secretaries. The parliamentary secretaries will be responsible taking care of business in question hour, legislation, motions, resolutions and other matters relating to their ministries in absence of ministers in the National Assembly. Earlier, there was only one parliamentary secretary, Ehsanul Haq Bajwa, who is representing the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis in the House.
