PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Thursday made a telephone call to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and informed him about the worsening law and order situation in the province.
Quoting the sources, Geo News reported that Kundi told the prime minister that the KP government had failed to restore peace and ensure the protection of the life and property of the citizens. “The governor told the prime minister that the security situation in KP was going from bad to worse with each passing day,” said the source. The governor told the prime minister that the incidents involving the kidnapping of government officials and attacks on the policemen were increasing. “The people of KP are suffering from a sense of insecurity because of the lawlessness in the province,” the governor reportedly told the prime minister. He pointed out that the cops had been protesting in Dera Ismail Khan, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Bajaur and other districts of the province for some days. “The police, which are supposed to protect the people, are themselves feeling insecure,” the governor told the prime minister. The sources said the prime minister resolved to take immediate steps with the federal interior minister and KP governor to ensure peace in KP.
