‘Steps taken to celebrate Eid Miladun Nabi in peaceful manner’

MULTAN: The Punjab Cabinet Committee for Law and Order has said that all possible measures will be taken to celebrate the Eid Miladun Nabi (SAW) in a peaceful manner.

The Punjab Cabinet Committee on Law and Order was headed by the committee’s chairman and Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafiq who visited Multan exclusively on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to review the law and order situation ahead of the Eid Miladun Nabi (SAW).

Provincial Minister Bilal Akbar Khan, Punjab Home Secretary Noorul Amin Mengal and other officials were also present. Punjab Ministers Rana Sikandar Hayat and Sher Ali Gorchani and Punjab IGP Dr Usman Anwar participated in the meeting through video link.

The meeting deeply reviewed the law and order arrangements in connection with the Eid Miladun Nabi (SAW). The meeting briefed that 217 Milad processions and 44 other gatherings would be held on the Eid Miladun Nabi (SAW) in Multan. Likewise, as many as 170 processions would be held in Bahawalpur, it added.

Speaking on the occasion, Punjab Minister Khawaja Salman Rafiq said that Eid Miladun Nabi (SAW) would be celebrated with religious devotion and respect. He said that on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, he was visiting the entire province to review the security arrangements. He told that a central control room had been established in the Punjab Home Department to review the law and order situation.

The minister said that security personnel had been appointed for all main processions and celebrations of the Eid Miladun Nabi (SAW). South Punjab Additional IG, Multan commissioner and RPO gave a detailed briefing about all the arrangements.

Meanwhile, on the direction of Multan CPO Sadiq Ali Dogar, the City police had completed the security arrangements in connection with the Eid Miladun Nabi (SAW). More than 3,400 police officers and personnel would perform duty to ensure foolproof security. Police had also installed CCTV cameras on the routes of the processions and rallies to monitor al situation.
