Rawalpindi:Punjab government has sent Chief Minister Inspection and Monitoring Team led by Brig (r) Babar Allaudin in Rawalpindi to check the performance of all public sector departments.
During his two-day visit, Chief Minister's Directorate of Evaluation, Feedback, Inspection and Monitoring (DEFIM) Chairman Brig (r) Babar Allaudin has admitted corruption in public sector departments and warned to take strict action against corrupt government officers. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was closely monitoring corrupt mafia in government departments adopting zero tolerance on this serious issue, he warned.
CM Punjab has received several complaints against corrupt mafia particularly in revenue department including some other departments in Rawalpindi, he said. The team also visited in Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) and got briefing about the mushroom growth of illegal housing societies which were continuously looting public. On the other hand, the locals of Rawalpindi have strongly protested of (DEFIM) two-day visit because the team did not meet affected residents even a single time. The locals were expecting to arrange an open Kutchery where affected people would complaint to monitoring and inspection team. The locals have demanded Chief Minister Punjab to visit here and listen the complaints of public.
Chief Minister's inspection team chairman Brig (r) Babar Allaudin visited some of department in two days including RDA, Deputy Commissioner Office, Holy Family Hospital and Fatima Jinnah Women University, etc. He directed to establish a front desk in all public sector departments to resolve public complaints immediately and the performance of each department will be evaluated with basic performance indicators and strict action will be taken in case of negligence.
He also said that there is no interference at all, no transfer or posting is done on recommendation due to which all departments are working without political pressure and there is a conducive environment for all departments to improve their performance by working on merit. He said that the Chief Minister is working on a policy of zero tolerance against corruption and in all the departments from top to bottom the corrupt elements are being encircled, he warned.
