17 die on road in 24 hours

LAHORE:The Emergency Services Department (ESD) responded to 1,302 road accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

In these accidents, 17 people died, whereas 1,351 were injured. Out of these, 570 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 783 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.

Two commit suicide over poverty

Two people committed suicide in separate incidents in Raiwind city due to severe financial hardships. Ramazan consumed poisonous pills and died. He was jobless for a long time and left four children to mourn his death. Meanwhile, a factory worker committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope. Police have transferred the bodies to mortuary.

Edhi Foundation buries 18 bodies

The Edhi Foundation buried 18 unclaimed bodies in Saggian graveyard on Thursday. According to an Edhi Foundation spokesperson, one body was found in Yakki Gate, two in Garden Town, three in Lytton Road, two in Data Darbar, two in Ravi Road, and eight were recovered from the jurisdiction of Bhatti Gate police.

Decomposed body found

The decomposed body of a man was found in an open drain in Phase 6 of DHA. Passersby noticed the body floating in the drain and notified the police. Police transported the body to morgue.

Five bodies found

Five unidentified individuals were found dead at different locations across the City. A 30-year-old man was found dead near Safanwala Chowk, Mozang area. A 45-year-old security guard was found dead in C Block, Defence.

Another 45-year-old man was found dead in the River Ravi within the Sherakot police jurisdiction. A 35-year-old man was found dead on Shesh Mahal Road, under the jurisdiction of the Data Darbar police. Additionally, a decomposed body was recovered from the railway line in Imamia Colony, within the Shahdara Town police area. Bodies were transported to the mortuary by Edhi ambulance.
