Man held for attempt to assault girl

LAHORE:A man, who attempted to assault a young girl in Bhatti Gate police area, was arrested by the police. The police took action against the culprit on the information of Virtual Women Police Station. The victim aged 13 was playing outside her house in Bhatti Gate when the accused lured her into his home and attempted to rape her. The police have registered a case and took the suspect into custody.

Woman, 70, shot dead over enmity

A 70-year-old woman was shot dead in the limits of Hadyara police on Wednesday. According to the police, the accused Atiq and his accomplices entered the house of the victim Kamal Bibi and shot her to death over an old enmity. The accused was arrested along with the weapon. The police transported the body to the morgue and registered a murder case on the complaint of the victim's daughter.

7,171 drug pushers arrested

Lahore police have registered 6,959 cases and arrested 7,171 drug pushers, this year. According to the spokesman of Lahore Police, the operations against drug peddlers have led to the seizure of 5,137 kilograms of hashish, 233 kilograms of heroin, 128 kilograms of ice and 48,052 liters of alcohol.

At least 1,593 drug pushers were arrested by City Division, 1,474 by Cantt Division, 766 by Civil Lines Division, 965 by Saddar Division, 1,127 by Iqbal Town Division and 1,246 drug pushers were arrested by Model Town Division.

Car commits 91 traffic violations

The city traffic police seized a car in Phase 4 Defence, and handed down a fine of Rs40,500 to its owner/driver for committing 91 traffic violations in the provincial capital. The driver violated the traffic signals 77 times and lane violations 14 times at various roads of the city.

338 combing operations conducted

At least 338 search and combing operations were conducted by the Punjab police across the province in the last 24 hours. Around 8,598 individuals were questioned, and 23 suspects were detained during these operations. According to a Punjab police spokesperson, since February this year, the police have conducted 18,584 search and combing operations throughout the province.

More than 597,000 individuals were questioned, and 5,399 suspects were detained. A total of 112 pistols, 16 rifles, and 11 shotguns were recovered.
