ISLAMABAD: Accountability Court No. 3 Judge Abida Sajjad has issued a notice to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) seeking a response regarding a challenge to the court’s jurisdiction in the Toshakhana reference involving President Asif Ali Zardari and former prime ministers Nawaz Sharif and Yusuf Raza Gilani.

During the hearing, Yusuf Raza Gilani’s lawyer filed a petition contesting the jurisdiction of the NAB court, arguing that, following the recent amendments, the accountability court and the NAB no longer hold jurisdiction in the case. The court issued a notice, directing the NAB to clarify if the Toshakhana case falls under its jurisdiction. The hearing was adjourned until September 26.
