MULTAN: A division bench of the Lahore High Court comprising Justice Syed Baqir Ali Najafi and Justice Muhammad Waheed Khan on Monday cancelled the interim bail of MPA Rana Abdul Manan Sajid from Jatoi, after which he was arrested as soon as he left the court, the petitioner’s counsel said.
The MPA belongs to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and police had registered a case against him for beating the Tehsil Jaoi assistant commissioner in his office. The AC also appeared before the court. The court said when elected representatives treated senior officers this way, how they could perform their duties, especially when women officers were also being appointed? It is said that the MPA had incited protesters, created a ruckus and attacked the AC residence, because farmers were complaining that they were not being given Bardana.
