Minister wants timely completion of projects

PESHAWAR: Minister for Food Zahir Shah Toru on Monday directed the relevant officials to ensure the timely completion of all projects under the “Awami Agenda Programme”.

An official handout said the minister was presiding over a review meeting at the office of the deputy commissioner of Mardan.The meeting focused on assessing the progress of the ongoing development projects in the district.

Members of Provincial Assembly and District Development Advisory Committee (DDAC) Chairman Zarshad Khan, Amir Farzand Khan, Abdul Salam Afridi, Deputy Commissioner Mian Behzad Adil, and other relevant officials attended the meeting.

The deputy commissioner briefed the meeting on the ongoing projects and said that several key projects were underway in Mardan, including the maintenance and cleanliness of hospitals and educational institutions, renovation of public parks, restoration of sports grounds, removal of illegal billboards, elimination of encroachments, and the cleaning of transport terminals.He said the officials were monitoring the progress on the projects.

Zahir Shah directed officials to ensure strict quality control, digitalization of revenue records, and to adopt an open-door policy for public engagement. He called for implementing a file-tracking system to ensure quick work on the projects.

The minister urged the authorities to complete the projects, which were aimed at improving the quality of life and to expedite the pace of work so that the people could benefit from these initiatives at the earliest.
