Robbers take away over Rs13m

LAHORE:Robbers took away more than Rs13.2 million from jewellers’ employees at gunpoint in the Naseerabad police station area.

The police have registered a case on a complaint of M Umar. According to the FIR, Umar's employees were returning with Rs13,270,000 cash after delivering gold to jewellers in Liberty Market when they were attacked by robbers near Kalma Chowk. One robber on a motorcycle pushed the employees off their vehicle, while two other robbers, also on motorcycles, took away the money at gunpoint.

In a separate incident, three robbers shot at and wounded a citizen within the Manawan police area. As per police, Adeel and his colleague, Atta-ur-Rehman, were on their way when three robbers on a bike stopped them at gunpoint, and snatched a cell phone and Rs4 lakh. When Adeel resisted, the robbers shot at him before fleeing the scene. The injured Adeel was taken to hospital.

20 die in road accidents in Punjab

The Emergency Services Department (ESD) responded to 1,387 road accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

In these accidents, 20 people died, whereas 1,511 were injured. Out of these, 660 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 851 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.

Youth hit to death

A 20-year-old youth was killed by a tractor-trolley near the Chuhng Police Training Centre on Sunday. The victim, identified as Talha, was a resident of Sukh Chayn Society. The accident occurred due to the bursting of two rear tires on the tractor-trolley. Body was transported to the morgue by Edhi volunteers.
