LAHORE: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUIF) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Saturday he wanted to send a message to the international community that Israel could never be recognised by Pakistan.

Addressing the golden jubilee conference of Khatam-e-Nabuwat at Minar-e-Pakistan here late Saturday night, he said the cruelty and brutality of Israel continues in Palestine and no Islamic country could even think of recognising it as a state. He said Hamas fighters have challenged the Israeli state by sacrificing their lives and should move forward for the liberation of Palestine.

The Maulana warned against exerting pressure on madrassas and targeting curricula of religious schools. He said that under pressure from the world powers, pressure was being exerted on the religious schools “but the forces pressuring us would not be able to bear with it when we retaliate”.

The JUIF chief said, “We did not accept the results of 2018 elections, nor do we recognise the 2024 elections.” He said today’s gathering is a symbol of Pakistan’s unity. “This country is ours. The values of Islam must be established and promoted here.” He said all schools of thought were represented at the Khatam-e-Nabuwat platform. This platform was sending a message today that the people of Pakistan know how to defend the belief in Khatam-e-Nabuwat.

Maulana Fazlur Rahman claimed there was no state writ in Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa currently.
