VENICE: Nicole Kidman has once again showcased her exceptional talent, winning the Best Actress award at the prestigious Venice Film Festival for her performance in the erotic drama ‘Babygirl”. The film, directed by Halina Reijn, follows Kidman as Romy, a successful New York CEO who becomes entangled in a passionate affair with a younger intern. Kidman’s portrayal of the complex character, grappling with desire, power, and the consequences of her actions, has garnered critical acclaim. This latest award adds to Kidman’s impressive list of accolades, solidifying her status as one of Hollywood’s most versatile and celebrated actresses. An end-of life drama celebrating female friendship, “The Room Next Door” from Spanish director Pedro Almodovar won the Golden Lion best picture award at the Venice Film Festival Saturday. The film, starring Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore, is the prolific director´s first English-language feature, and his Golden Lion comes five years after winning a career achievement award at Venice.
